Bridges for Women Society has a variety of free programs designed to meet diverse women’s needs. All our programs aim to inspire women to break the cycle of abuse and trauma through healing, education and employment training. Our programs help to guide women in identifying their interests, strengths and skills and in developing long-term career and personal goals through counselling, supportive employment training, academic upgrading and mentorship.

Our downtown location offers three classrooms, a full kitchen and a computer lab. Drop-ins are welcome for those enrolled in programs.

Programs are flexible and accessible – for example, if a woman has family responsibilities and health care issues, our continuous intake process helps her to find the information and support she requires for “her unique situation”. Extra supports for childcare, transportation and nutrition are offered on-site as well as many off-site referrals and partner agency programs.

Bridges for Women Society was recognized by the Royal Roads University Chancellor’s Community Recognition Award in 2017 for our transformative programs for diverse women. The Community Social Planning Council’s Quality of Life Award in 2005 also recognized Bridges’ commitment and programs as preventing and reducing poverty in BC’s Capital Region.
